Ordering & Customisation

Nearly everyMadeMeasure piece is made to order. Most orders are processed and dispatched within 2–3 weeks, but custom and larger orders may take longer depending on complexity. If you have a specific deadline, we recommend reaching out before placing your order—we’ll always do our best to accommodate where possible.

Yes, we offer custom sizing and finishes on select products. Customisation is available for leather handles, wrapped metal pulls, and select hardware. If you have something specific in mind, get in touch—we’ll be happy to discuss feasibility, pricing, and lead times.

Since all pieces are made to order, modifications may not always be possible. If changes are needed, contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Complementary products can be found within our Series: Series 01, Series 02, and Series 03. Each series is designed as a cohesive collection, ensuring harmony across different elements. For tailored guidance, our Studio team is available to assist with selection.

No, we only wrap handles from our own collection. Our leather-wrapped designs are carefully considered to ensure the perfect fit and lasting durability.

We recommend referring to the product specifications and, if possible, creating a full-scale template from light card to test placement. If you need further guidance, we’re happy to help—reach out with your project details, and we can assist in selecting the right pieces.

If your project requires a specific size that isn't listed, contact us to discuss customisation options. While we can offer custom sizes on certain products, availability will depend on the design and materials.

We offer a fully custom service, creating pieces to your exact vision. With experience across large-scale commercial projects and one-off residential commissions, we tailor materials, sizes, and finishes to meet the needs of each space.

Handle Selection

Choosing the right handle depends on both function and aesthetics. We recommend considering the overall style of your space, the scale of your joinery, and how the handles will feel in daily use. Creating a full-size template from light card and testing placement on your cabinetry can help visualise the final look before ordering.

Each handle style comes in a selection of sizes, detailed on the product page. For cabinetry and drawers, we recommend ensuring the handle is proportionate to the size of the door or panel. For larger doors or integrated appliances, a longer or more substantial pull may provide better functionality. If in doubt, our Studio team can assist with selection.

  • Single fixing handles attach with a single point of contact, making them ideal for leather tabs and loop-style pulls.
  • Double fixing handles, also known as rear-fix handles, are secured at two points for greater stability, making them well-suited for larger doors and heavier use.
  • Face fixing handles are installed on one side of a door, with no visible fixings on the reverse. These are commonly used on pivot doors or full-height cabinetry, where a pull function is only required from one side.
  • Back-to-back fixing handles are installed in pairs, with one handle on each side of the door, allowing seamless push or pull functionality from both sides. These are often used on pivot doors, entrance doors, and large sliding doors where access is required from both directions.

All handle dimensions, fixing details, and installation requirements are listed on the product page. If you’re unsure, we recommend consulting with your cabinet maker or designer before purchasing to ensure compatibility.

Yes, leather swatches are available for purchase via our website. If you’re a designer or trade client working on a larger project, get in touch to discuss sample options. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

We do not recommend leather-wrapped handles for outdoor use. Leather is a natural material that will be affected by moisture, UV exposure, and temperature changes, which can cause premature wear. If you require a durable outdoor option, we offer a selection of solid metal hardware designed to withstand the elements.

Fixings & Installation

Yes, all MadeMeasure handles come with compatible screws. If you require a custom screw length or specification, you may need an Interscrew Extension, which is available for purchase on our website. Additionalinterscrews can also be purchased separately. If you’re unsure about what you need, please contact our team for guidance.

No. We strongly recommend waiting until your handles arrive before pre-drilling to ensure the most accurate placement. Leather thickness can vary slightly, so pre-drilling without the actual product in hand may lead to misalignment.

Installation is straightforward, though we always recommend using a professional tradesperson for the best result. You can find full installation instructions on our Installation Page. If you need further assistance, please contact our team.

Recessed pulls require a precisely cut rebate or recess in the joinery to ensure they sit flush. We strongly recommend professional installation by a cabinet maker or joiner to achieve the best fit. Always ensure you have received the handles before cutting the recess, as leather thickness can vary slightly.

We supply standard threaded flat-head, countersunk screws with our leather recessed pulls. If you require a different specification for your project, please contact our team for advice.

The projection of the handle (how far it extends from the joinery) is up to you. Leather handles are flexible, allowing for different levels of projection depending on your preference. Some people prefer a flatter look, while others opt for a greater arch. Just ensure you leave enough room for a comfortable grip when positioning your handle.

MadeMeasureinterscrews have a smooth post with a fixed length and are secured with a cap once installed, creating a seamless finish. To select the correct size, factor in your joinery thickness plus the leather handle, tab, or loop thickness. If additional length is required, interscrew extensions are available for purchase.

No. Leather is a natural material that is not suited to outdoor exposure, as moisture, UV light, and temperature fluctuations can cause it to degrade over time. If you require a durable outdoor option, we offer solid metal hardware designed to withstand the elements. Contact our team for recommendations.

Rear-fix handles are secured from the back of the cabinetry, meaning the fixing is hidden from view.
Face-fix handles are mounted from the front, with no visible fixing at the rear of the door.
Back-to-back handles are installed on both sides of a door, allowing for access from either side. These are commonly used on entrance doors, large sliding doors, or pivot doors.

Materials & Finishes

We use the highest-grade Italian vegetable-tanned leathers, sourced for their durability, rich texture, and environmental integrity. Our leather meets the strictest global environmental standards, free from chrome, PCP, AZO dyes, cadmium, pesticides, and formaldehyde. For more details, visit our Materials Library.

Yes. Leather is a natural material that softens and develops a rich patina with use, deepening in colour and character over time. Some finishes, such as Natural Leather, patina more than others. For a detailed understanding of how each finish evolves, visit our Materials Library.

It depends on the finish. Aged Brass undergoes specialised techniques and is lacquered to preserve its patina, while other finishes like Satin Brass and Polished Brass are electroplated for durability. Our Satin Stainless Steel has a No.4 brushed finish for a refined, low-sheen appearance.

No. PVD coating is available on selected brass finishes, such as Polished Brass, for enhanced durability and tarnish resistance. If you need a specific coating, check the product details or contact our team.

  • Leather: Wipe with a damp cloth and condition occasionally with a wax/silicone-free leather conditioner. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Metal: Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasives that could damage the finish.
  • Timber: Dust regularly and apply a wood polish or oil as needed to maintain its natural beauty.
